Detroit was founded in 1701 by Antoine de la Mothe
Cadillac, a French Trader.  Detroit and it's Metropolitan
area comprise one of the major industrial-commercial
complexes in the United States.  Detroit is more than
just an automobile city, because of it's location on the
Great Lakes, it ranked third of U.S. ports in foreign
trade in the mid-20th century.  For more information on
